What is a DU-1080 Cockpit Display?
The original DU-1080 display units are now approaching 20 years old, and Honeywell can no longer repair these older display units. Fortunately for existing customers that operate AW-139 or Embraer
Due to obsolete components in older units, Honeywell is not able to guarantee repair of the original configuration of display units for customers without a contract maintenance program for the DU-1080 Displays.
How does the DU-1080 Cockpit Display work?
The DU-1080-3 is a certified interchangeable and intermixable replacement for DU-1080-1 or DU-1080-2 on Embraer Platforms. Leonardo aircraft will need to comply with the installation requirements which do not permit a DU-1080-3 to be used with the earlier display units.
DU-1080-3 is also a requirement for displays advanced features including synthetic vision system, integrated nav and electronic charts and maps.
A full shipset of DU-1080-3 is required prior to installing the Advanced Features.
